Automation Launcher and Linked App Exchange are for intentional starts and cross-app handoffs.

Automation Launcher screen type in the builder.
Use Automation Launcher when users should choose to start a process from a screen rather than from a data form. Examples include Start onboarding, Request manager review, Escalate issue, Send to finance, or Generate renewal workflow.
Setup steps:
Add Automation Launcher.
Name each launcher action in user language.
Connect each action to a workflow.
Confirm required fields are available before the workflow starts.
Preview as the role that should use it.
Click the launcher action and confirm the result appears.

Linked App Exchange screen type in the builder.
Use Linked App Exchange when one app hands work or data to another app. Examples include sending an approved purchase request to inventory, sending a signed timecard to payroll, or sending a customer escalation to a service operations app.
Setup steps:
Add Linked App Exchange.
Choose the source workflow.
Choose the target app or exchange destination.
Map the fields being sent.
Define success and failure messages.
Add Exception Resolution for failed handoffs.
Run a test and confirm both sides show the result.
The launcher or exchange is ready when a normal user can start the action, the destination receives the work, success is visible, and failures create clear exceptions.
