# Plans and entitlements

Canonical page for what a plan unlocks, usage meters, billing, and how that differs from Automation and Integrations entitlements.

The Automation matrix page stays a short table that **links here** for billing and **to** [Which automation](https://docs.notionapps.com/automation/which-automation) for product families. Do not fork a second plans book.

## What this is / when to use it

Your **subscription plan** sets default caps and feature gates. **Entitlement overrides** (account or app) can grant or block Workflow, Messaging, Approvals, or individual Integrations providers without changing the Stripe plan. Makers see upgrade prompts; they do not see admin override UI.

Use this page to answer “why is clone blocked?”, “why is white-label missing?”, or “why is Auth0 / Crisp missing?” Use Automation Home → Request access when the lock is an automation family. Use support when a login or chat provider is missing.

## Before you start

You can open builder billing / the customer portal link for the account.

## Build it (billing)

1. Open account **Plans** / billing.
2. Open the **billing portal** (Stripe customer portal) to update the card, cancel, or change plan.
3. **Payment links** and **trial vs paid**: a trial account behaves like the trial plan’s caps. When the trial ends, the account either converts via the payment link you used or loses paid-only gates. Publish still works on the free/trial feature set.
4. Confirm meters before you clone a template.

## Integrations entitlements

Login and chat providers are **not** “paid plan = everything.” Each provider is its own capability. The most specific grant wins: **one app**, then the **account**, then the **plan default**.

Typical defaults (your workspace can differ if NotionApps granted an exception):

If a provider is missing from **Add Integration** or shows an upgrade prompt, your plan does not include it. Contact NotionApps support — we can grant a provider for your **account** or a **single app** without changing your Stripe plan. Do not try to force it with Advanced JSON.

## What users see

End users see upgrade walls only if you ship a broken gate (upload failed). They do not see meters. They only see login buttons and chat widgets for providers you are entitled to **and** have enabled.

## Limits and plans

This page **is** the limits page. If a customer’s override disagrees with the plan table, trust the builder lock they see and contact support.

## Example

Trial maker hits the app cap after two clones. They delete the unused clone, or open the billing portal and upgrade, then clone the template again. Preflight still fails if Workflow is not entitled — that is a Request access problem, not a meter.

A paid maker who wants Okta but only sees Google and Email & password should contact support for an SSO grant — upgrading Stripe alone may not turn Okta on.
