What this video covers

The walkthrough starts with account access and Notion permissions, then demonstrates five ways to create an app:

Sign up or sign in at NotionApps and open My Apps.
Select Connect Notion, choose the workspace, share the pages containing your databases, and approve access.
Open + Create New App and compare Create from an empty builder with Create using automation.
Use the empty builder to connect selected databases and design the screens yourself.
Use the provisioning tool to describe an app, confirm roles and people, choose a Notion destination, review the plan, and build new databases and screens.
Build from existing databases by describing how they should work, choosing public or private access, and reviewing any proposed additions to Notion.
Start from a sample by completing Duplicate Notion Template, Connect Notion Template, and Clone App.
Create another version of an app you already own with Duplicate App.

Choose your starting point

3. Existing databases	Your data already exists and you want generated screens.	An app using that data, with the additions you approve.
4. Sample app	A finished example is close to what you need.	Your own copy of the template data and app.
5. Duplicate an app	You want a second version of an app already on My Apps.	A copy using the same connected workspace.

Prerequisites

A laptop or desktop, a NotionApps account, and access to the Notion workspace you want to use.
Permission to share the required Notion pages with NotionApps.
Existing databases for paths 1 and 3, or a destination for new databases for path 2.
A clear description of who uses the app, what each role does, and who can see or approve records when using the provisioning tool.

A connected workspace does not guarantee that every page is shared. If a page or database is missing, open Manage Databases, share it in Notion, and return to the creation flow. Newly connected data can take one or two minutes to appear.

After the video — checklist

Confirm the workspace shown on My Apps is the one that contains—or will contain—your app's data.
Confirm the required pages and databases are shared and appear in the relevant selectors.
Complete one creation path. For the empty builder, add the screens and components your app needs.
For a provisioned app, check the roles, people, destination, and proposed databases and screens before starting the build.
When using existing databases, approve only the missing properties or databases you want added to Notion.
Open the resulting app and check its screens, connected data, and intended access. For a private app, verify the Users database and test the experience for each role.
