18 Oct 2026 Release

This note covers what shipped after the 17 Oct 2026 Release, on 18 Oct 2026.

Available to makers

Edit and Delete on a row page can follow who is logged in

A Details screen has Who can see Edit under Allow Editing, and Who can see Delete under Allow Delete. Each block shows only while that switch is on. The rule uses the same logic as Screen Visibility Logic: a property of the logged-in user, such as Role is Admin. Phone and desktop both follow it, including the desktop list-and-detail panel.

  • With no rule, the status line is Every logged-in user who can open this page. Allow Editing and Allow Delete still decide the buttons.

  • With a rule, the status line is Only logged-in users who match this logic.

  • Edit and Delete keep separate rules. One person can see Edit, Delete, both, or neither.

  • A person who does not match does not see that button. The row page stays open. Screen Visibility Logic still decides who can open the page.

  • A primary Details screen still has no Delete button, and no Who can see Delete.

  • The update form that Edit opens keeps its own Allow Delete.

  • In the builder, View as uses the selected user. Any user hides a button that has a rule until a specific user is selected.

  • When the app is not private, or no Users database is linked, the block says Enable login to choose who sees this button. The switches alone decide. A rule saved earlier stays, and applies again when login is on.

  • Turning Allow Editing or Allow Delete off hides that button for everyone and keeps the rule. Turning the switch back on restores it.

Changed on the backend

A saved button rule stays on the screen

Who can see Edit and Who can see Delete are stored on the Details screen. A later save keeps both rules. There is nothing to turn on, and existing screens with no rule are unchanged.

What makers need to do

  • Nothing, for existing apps. A row page that has never had a button rule looks the same.

  • To limit a button, open the Details screen, keep Allow Editing or Allow Delete on, and add logic under Who can see Edit or Who can see Delete.

  • Login has to be on, with a Users database, before a rule can be added.
